Now that I think about it innovation in games is extremely important. We need new ideas and new mechanics to push the industry forwards. There is no such thing as two games being alike. Just like humans each game has a different personality, look, and feel. Part of what makes a game truly great is that there will never be anything quite like it again. People will try and fail, but that game will always be the best. While we should be careful not to encourage bad games we shouldn’t blame series for trying to think outside the box we put them in. Because sometimes that innovation can lead up to a new game that is unique and truly great. This is what I think about Gears J. It can only lead to better things in the future. Even if it completely flops we would never know if these ideas were any good.
