I’ve really wanted to do a Mantle Kick tutorial of sorts for quite some time now, so I hope you guys enjoy this video. This is Episode #8 of my Gears of War 3 Tips and Tactics show, one of the reasons I was really hesitant to avoid a Mantle tutorial is because of the inconsistencies with the tactic itself. Epic hasn’t addressed any of the bugs that occur with the Mantle and I’m not certain they ever will, now that Gears Judgment is in the works. The two tactics I like to use with the Mantle are the “Misdirection” and the “Chase,” which have seemed to yield the best results in the last two months I’ve been consciously going for Mantle Kicks.
The Mantle Kick is a very high risk, high reward manuever (high risk mostly due to bugs), but when approaching it with a premeditated thought process it becomes much more effective.
